Royer-Greaves School for Blind is licensed as an Approved Private School for Special Education and a Private Academic School by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The education school day program complies with state and federal standards of education for an un-graded curriculum. Individualized Education Plans (IEP) are designed for each student to meet their educational goals and objectives. The IEP is developed following the receipt of the Evaluation Report which addresses the academic needs strengths for each student as recommended by the student's Multi-Disciplinary Team. The education program is administered by Special Education Teachers who are dually certified in mental and/or physical handicap and vision impairment. The teachers are supported by classroom aides. Class sizes are purposefully small to provide students with individual tie and attention. The faculty includes a Music Therapist, Physical Education Teacher, Speech and Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Orientation and Mobility Specialist and a full time permanent substitute teacher. The Education Supervisor directs the program, faculty and curriculum.
